Rivea is a musician, musicologist, and voice artist based in Halifax, West Yorkshire. With a passion for traditional folk music, he is one-third of Triskelion, a unique three-piece a cappella folk group. Rivea's captivating vocals are inspired by renowned folk artists like Nancy Kerr and Kate Rusby, interwoven with the artistry of his classical background.
Rivea's musical journey has been extensive, encompassing a BMus (Hons) in Music, a PgDip in Education, and an MMus in Music Performance from Huddersfield University. His talent has graced prestigious stages like the Holmfirth Folk Festival, and he has lent his voice to numerous choirs across Kirklees for winter performances and private events.
Though a classically trained singer for 15 years, Rivea found his true calling in the joy of folk music. He specialises in arranging the group's intricate harmonies, a key element of Triskelion's distinctive sound. As part of what is believed to be the only three-piece folk a cappella group in West Yorkshire, Rivea and Triskelion bring a fresh and captivating sound to the vibrant folk scene
