Abi Howarth

I am a true creative at heart, and working within the Art Department is where my passion truly lies. I bring pure dedication, hard work and enthusiasm to every role, giving my heart and soul to each project I am involved in. If I am given a task, I approach it without question. if you're on time, you're late so I am often one of the first to arrive and one of the last to leave, and I am always willing to go the extra mile.

I thrive on the variety that the industry offers, from analysing different scripts, imagining new environments. Working collaboratively with different crew members. I love the fast-paced intensity, the challenge of last-minute problem solving and the excitement that comes with the ever-changing film productions. 

My favourite part is analysing a script and trying to work out who the characters are by stepping into their shoes and imagining how they would live. I believe every prop tells a story, and that the right objects can tell the audience who a character is without a single word being said.

Alongside my formal training, I have over ten years of creative industry experience and have worked across commercials, short films, documentaries, corporate productions and feature films in roles including Production Designer, Art Director, Costume Designer and Costume Assistant. 

My long-term goal is to build a career within the Art Department and progress towards Set Decoration. I love being creative and learning new skills, so I would also love opportunities in other areas of the Art or Costume Department. Whether it's assisting, Prop Making, Model making or Costume props. I enjoy being hands-on and developing myself whenever I can.
