Emma Nisbet

My name is Emma Nisbet, I am an actress from Scotland. I am hard working, determined and motivated to achieve my goals. Previously, I attended classes with Acting Out Drama School, formerly known as Acting Out UK's Drama School, for four years. Whilst attending classes there I was able to perform at the Pleasance Theatre and the Roxy Theatre, both in Edinburgh. One of these shows was devised by our class which gave me the opportunity to write my own monologue for my character which I enjoyed. I also took part in four practical exams with the United Kingdim Alliance, all of which I passed. These exams involved performing a monologue, having a discussion with the exam pannel about your chosen piece and the play it is from and performing an improvisation. Previously, I was also part of Creative Electrics Young company which allowed me to explore different types of theatre and storytelling methods such as our White Feather Tombola piece which allowed the audience to play tombola and the prizes were stories from the cast members; which for me were stories about my grandparents. I am currently studying BA Screen Performance and the University of Sunderland, after gaining my HND, HNC and NC from Fife College. During my studies at Fife College I was able to play a child and the Junk Shop Dealer in our production of Georg Buchner's Woyzeck, Lissa in Bone Cage by Catherine Banks and Linda Underhill in the Monster in the Hall. This year has allowed me to gain knowledge and experience in screen acting as I played the main character in a short film called Haze that was created for Northumbria Police to help raise awareness of current issues to school. As well as these experiences I was also an extra in the show Counting Sheep which was an immersive theatre performance at the Edinburgh Fringe festival in 2016 by the company the Lemon Bucket Orkestra.
