I am a second year college student studying music production with the hopes of continuing to university on a similar path.

From recording music in a professional studio, setting up stages for various bands/artists, producing music of many genres in different DAWs and more, this course has allowed me to develop a range of music related skills that has been vital in gaining experience, and will continue to be during university and professional environments.

I got my foot in the music industry from an early age through shadowing professionals and applying for music related jobs when I can. My first industry related job was through a theatre company in my hometown; I took on the role of assistant stage manager. While my role was quite specific, I was able to get involved with the sound and lighting crew, helping set up when I had some free time and talking to professionals about the industry. This role helped shape my view on backstage jobs and fueled my passion for the production side of the music industry; it taught me how chaotic yet rewarding working backstage can be. I gained some local industry contacts at this time, kick starting my networking abilities.

Outside of music production and being a part of technical crews, I found myself in the press pits at an alternative festival photographing artists/bands. And recently, a new opportunity has arose at Wild Wood Festival in Cambridgeshire, where I will be volunteering backstage and working closely with artists.
