Aspiring Performer

My name is Amber Reed, and I am an enthusiastic and
inspiring upcoming performer with skills in video editing as well as a BTEC level
3 extended diploma in performing arts. During my studies, I’ve taken part in a
multitude of different projects such as Rich Man’s Frug, a multi-sensory
performance based on Julia Donaldson stories named Charlie Cook’s Favourite
Book, a contemporary dance piece called Aeon, and an original play named ‘FAKE.’
I also had the opportunity to collaborate
with the company Southpaw in a production called ‘We Are Giants’ where we
worked together to come up with movement for us to perform in Keel Square in
the middle of Sunderland. With southpaw we were also able to learn how motion
capture works because that was also used in the performance behind us as we
danced. When it comes to working outside of college on my own personal
side projects, I focus on video editing which expands my own innovative ideas
to show I’m capable of being completely original. I also take part in editing
commissions when I’m requested, always making sure my work is up to standards
to ensure everyone’s needs are met. My dedication towards performing arts and
editing makes me a versatile person as it shows that I’m able to work on both
sides of the industry as a performer and an editor making me quite adaptable. In
the future, I would like to be able to work for both sides or performing arts as
in the editing side behind the scenes and actual film acting. Individually, I
want to display each of my skills to the best of my abilities, specifically in
screen acting and/or mocap acting for games.
