Madison Collins

My name is Madi and I'm a bubbly and outgoing person. I have a true passion for dance and creative work. At the age of 4 I started with baby Ballet and baby tap then I moved on and started to train at Elevate where I did most of my early years dance exams in ballet, street and tap. while there I trained in musical theatre,tap, ballet,jazz and street dance. Also while in my youth over the summer, I attended lots of different dance camps to help build my skill set and widen my opportunities for example, northern Ballet summer camp, Yorkshire Dance, stage box and Leeds playhouse. Once I had hit high school I kind of lost interest in dance but I then got introduced to cheerleading and with being the strong person I am I thought why not give it a go. I began at White Rose cheer in 2018 this is where my passion for teaching and training children began. Then Covid hit and i decided to take a break but straight after Covid I join Dazl dance where I started training more deeply in hip-hop and contemporary and Pom while at Dazl I also got my level one and level two in dance leaders these qualifications combined allows me to be able to teach a class full of children on my own without the need for supervision this qualification has really helped boost me when it comes to my teaching. I have two distinction GCSEs, one for dance and one for drama. At my high school we also had three productions a year that I took part in. They were a rage from musicals to straight plays to self-written divided scripts. While I attended high school there was an external opportunity that came to your attention and my high school became the school scene from Last Tango in Halifax which is a tv show on bbc1 this opportunity allowed me to work on a real professional film set with big named actors. Overall, I believe that I have had a wide range of experience that has made me the person and dancer I am today.
