Kacy Crawley

Hello, my name is Kacy Crawley and I am an aspiring musical theatre performer/ actress based in the North East of England. Unlike many performers my age, I have not been performing since being younger. I started musical theatre at 13 when I first moved from Staffordshire, and it has been the inspiration and excitement in my life ever since. 

One of my lifelong dreams within the performance industry is to become a swing within professional contracts; I have experienced opportunities within external projects to help aid this passion of mine. I have been a part of many musical productions and have been cast as covers, understudies or even having swing responsibilities. For example, in the musicals that I have been a part of with Arts North Studios I have played Grandma understudy in Addams Family the musical, Rizzo understudy in Grease the musical and a swing in Footloose the musical and am currently an onstage swing in their college production of Rock of Ages. A highlight of my swing journey so far was when I had to learn a male track with a week’s notice, as an understudy had to go on last minute and there were no males to cover the part. I can still remember the rush of excitement, knowing this is exactly what I want to do with my life. The thought of being able to experience this love of covering roles in a professional sense one day really reminds me of my love for the west end and performing culture. 

From joining college for Arts North Studios in September of 2024, I have worked intensely to improve my ability in all disciplines. Classes such as Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Commercial, Lyrical, Fitness, Acting technique, Acting through song, Song workshop, Mindset, and so many more vital skills. One of my favourite lessons that I learnt so much from is Mindset. It has provided me with so much resilience to understand how my brain can react and bounce back from difficult situations. My training has aided me into a more powerful performer and person.
