Harry Enfield is a comedian, actor, writer and director. He is perhaps best known for creating wonderfully comic characters for a number of iconic television series, including Harry Enfield and Chums and Harry & Paul, and for the brilliant portrayal of everyone's favourite teenager Kevin and the eighties epitome of vulgar excess in Thatcher's Britain, LoadsaMoney (with whom he had a No.4 hit single, LoadsaMoney Doin' Up the House, in 1988).
He first came to public attention on Saturday Night Live, with the character of Stavros, a greek kebab shop owner.
Throughout his career he has worked with an array of actors and comic talent, but it his work with close friend and writing partner Paul Whitehouse that really stands out. For more than three decades, the pair have written and created some of the funniest, keenly observed and memorable characters to grace our screens - and never been afraid to retire characters when they had run their course.
I killed Loadsamoney off 'cos all he talked about was making money and shagging women, and he had two dimensions, so we were just bored with him by the end. I've had a huge career of killing off characters. Low attention span. Done that, that works, done. I can't get out of bed if I've got to do the same thing over and over again.
In 2000, he appeared in his first leading film role, playing Kevin the teenager opposite Kathy Burke in Kevin & Perry Go Large, which showed the pair exploring the highs and lows of DJing, club culture and every teenager's mission... to lose their virginities in Ibiza.
