Andrea

Hello my name is Andrea Gonzalez and I’m 19 years old. I was born in Ibiza, Spain and I've lived there most of my life. I have also lived in Barcelona (Spain), Valencia (Spain), and Texas ( United States of America), for a year in each place by myself, because I love change and to see and experience new places. I currently live in Cambridge because I am studying Popular music at Anglia Ruskin University. 

I have been a musician most of my life, and I have always had a passion for it. I started studying music at a music school in Ibiza when I was seven years old, and I finished it when I was almost fifteen years old. I started playing the piano in my second year of music and I played it until the end. Now a days I still play the piano but I use it more to accompany my singing instead of just playing classic pieces. I then started playing the saxophone in my fifth year of music and continued playing it until the end as well. 

I was part of my music school's choir since the beginning, which allowed me to learn how to sing properly. Although my goal isn't to be in a choir, singing is my main focus when it comes to music, so being part of it helped my vocal skills.

I have a seven year experience on music theory and I continue to learn about it at university. I am also experienced in composing my own music and I also currently take that subject at university. I am also learning about music technology, which helps create your own music and sounds; and about world music history which has introduced me to many different styles and ways of making music that I wasn't familiar with before.

I am very passionate about songwriting although I haven't had lessons for it, I simply write about the things that are in my mind, and about my feelings.

Although I love all aspects of music, my main passion and focus is singing. I have always wanted to be a singer and that is what I am persuading. I have had the opportunity to perform in front of my classmates and teachers at university, which has helped me tremendously with my stage fright and my confidence. I have also taken part in a couple singing competitions and auditioned for singing programs which has also helped me to gain confidence on stage. 

I am also lucky enough to be good friends with a music producer that has let me in his recording studio and helped me with my music. I have released a song with him, named 'Raise Hell' (the link is in my profile) in which I had the opportunity to do the vocals, and write the lyrics and melody for it.

My favourite musical genres are Pop, R&b, Soul, Jazz, and even Pop Rock and Alternative. My main singing language is English, but I can also sing in Spanish since I am from Spain. 

I would love to be hired as a lead singer for any type of event, and I would also be happy to become part of a band, as a singer or even a pianist or saxophonist, as well as collaborate with different people to create and perform music. 

My goal is to dedicate myself professionally to being a musician and an artist, especially to singing, creating and recording my own music.
